Looking for action? Most travel destinations in the world have a main focal point where a large percentage of the tourist activity takes place. In London it's Picadilly Circus, in Los Angeles it's Venice Beach, and in New York it's Times Square.
The main focal point in Cabo San Lucas is the beach, and the main beach where all the action takes place is El Medano Beach, starting just east of the Hacienda Hotel on one end to Club Cascadas one half mile down the sand.
To narrow down the action even more, there isn't a more active beach environment on the entire Baja Peninsula than the short stretch of beach between Billygan's Island on the west to Mango Deck on the east. And right smack dab in the middle is the watering hole that started it all, The Office, where the friendly staff is ready for you to clock in and have fun.

Just a few of the things visitors can do along this popular beach include walking on the beach, enjoying breakfast, lunch, happy hour, or dinner, listening to music, vendor shopping, swimming, snorkeling, renting wave runners, sunning, parasailing, banana rides, taking a panga to The Arch and to Lover's Beach, the list goes on. And if you have a hankering to watch a bikini contest, they usually set up the stages on the sand in the late afternoon.
This section Medano Beach is a fun place to meet new people. The tables and lounges of the various beachfront restaurants are close together, most of the people are in a great mood, the atmosphere is festive and it doesn't take much to get a conversation started with the funsters at the next table.
Folks who come to Cabo who are staying in boring hotels often spend all day hanging out in this corner of beachfront paradise. There is enough to do here to keep a person busy all day, even if they don't want to do anything at all. People watching here is about as much fun as a person can have with their clothes on.
So the next time you head to Cabo and find yourself looking for some beachside excitement before you hit the dance floors in town that night, grab a cab or a water taxi and have them drop you off at The Office. You can spend hours here doing everything...or nothing at all. And, of course, if you want to have your name written on a grain of rice, for a few pesos you can do that too.
